To keep animals and families together, the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society offer basic veterinary services in York Region and Barrie to families who don’t have the means to take their animals to a local veterinarian for routine care. . Clinics provide:
Animals requiring additional care will be referred to a local veterinarian for treatment.These clinics do not have the capacity to provide emergency care. Treat sick or injured animals.
There may be fees associated with these services which will be discussed at the time of booking.
*End of life care available. For animals that have reached the natural end of their lives, And their family does not have a veterinarian to perform humane euthanasia to end their suffering. We know this is a very difficult and emotional decision for your beloved pet, and we are here to help you in any way we can.

Where are these services located?
Basic veterinary services are available through Ontario SPCA Center Veterinary Hospital in Stouffville and gave The Ontario SPCA Marion Vernon Memorial Animal Clinic in Barrie, which offers High quality, high volume Spay/neuter services for the public.
How can people access the Service?
Be able to access the basic veterinary services offered by the Ontario SPCA. General public and those who receive government subsidies, have a local status card, are referred by social services and/or do not currently have a relationship with a local veterinarian.
Who determines who is eligible to use the Service?
Anyone is eligible to access these services, but priority for booking appointments is given to those on subsidies, who do not have regular veterinary or local status.
For discounted services, we will work directly with local social services to identify people who need help caring for their animals. Pet families who receive government subsidies can also contact us directly to book an appointment. Proof of eligibility will be required.
