We run primary sessions for children from Year 1 to Year 6 in animal welfare and pets. Our main program is called AnimalType and we have a Dedicated website And the movie. Our tours usually last about an hour and are usually with class size groups.
Instead of giving a speech, speakers engage children in a variety of activities including listening, talking, looking, writing, discussing and playing games.
A session usually involves looking at the companion animal’s needs and discussing how to care for the pet. Speakers talk about why adopting a rescued animal is better than buying from a breeder. We also consider the needs of wild animals and discuss how we can help protect them.
We run basic workshops to train speakers and provide all the resources they need, including our Animal Kind film, activity ideas and props such as puppets, pictures, games and stories.
