gave Safari train Takes visitors on a journey into the interior of the zoo with the ability to view the habitats from a unique vantage point. The train ride starts at the train station, at the Base Camp Cafe, and takes a single loop around the zoo, ending at the same location. Seating benches are 45″ wide, and 30″ deep from backrest to backrest. Visitors are required to step up 19″ and clear the 14″wx 51″h entry into the train to board the train. Guests under 42″ tall must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The Safari Train has an accessible train car that can accommodate 1 wheelchair at a time. Accessible car is 56″ long and 37″ wide. Visitors need to clear a 32″wx 50″h car entry to board the train using our accessible ramp. To use an accessible train car, talk to an employee who will assist you in loading the car up the ramp and securing the wheelchair using the wheel locks.
Note: The train produces a simulated chugging sound, a simulated train whistle sound, and a bell will be rung at each train crossing. Also, the train can make loud grinding noises against the tracks. Guests with sensitivity to loud noises may feel uncomfortable during the train ride.
gave Protection CarouselLocated on the west side of Swan Lake, visitors can watch the various animals move up and down for several minutes. Each animal requires visitors to step or be lifted up to a maximum of 22 inches and swing their leg to the other side of the animal. There are 2 benches for sitting. 2 The carousel animals, the giraffe and the camel, do not go up and down. Guests under 42 inches tall must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Riders under 42 inches must wear a seat belt while riding.
The Conservation Carousel can accommodate 1 wheelchair at a time. To ride the carousel in a wheelchair, talk to an employee who will help you roll the car up the ramp and secure the wheelchair using the wheel lock.
gave Access Pass Available for visitors who may have significant difficulty standing/waiting in line. Train, carousel, giraffe feeding experience, or Roo Valley. Using an Access Pass, visitors will wait the same amount of time in line, but outside of the traditional physical line. To use an access pass, ask an employee at the Welcome Center, Train, Carousel, Giraffe Feeding Experience, or Roe Valley for a pass: they will calculate the wait time and give you a lanyard with your ride/entry time. will give Experience At or after your time, bring the lanyard to an employee at the ride or experience, and they will take it and let you onto the next ride or experience through a separate entrance.
Note: Due to the manufacturer and safety specifications of our train and carousel, some personal mobility devices may not be permitted on the accessible portion of our rides and guests may be required to use manual wheelchairs at the zoo. Need to move.
